Halloween Rhythm Chant Composition for 1st & 2nd Grade
This is a Halloween Rhythm Chant Composition targeted toward 2nd grade standards. Students compose their own 16-beat Halloween Rhythm Chant, with each box representing one beat. They use arrows to show that notes are held for more than one beat through more than one box (how-to on second page). They are to utilize the word bank at the bottom of the page to create the chant. There is a space in each beat box for students to write the words they choose under their note values. The syllables in the words should represent the number of sounds/beats each word gets. Note values included are: quarter notes, quarter rests, barred eighth notes, half notes, and half rests. There is an additional page that shows students how to draw half notes and half rests through multiple boxes.
